in my youth I courted war

Greetings, Earthlings and otherworldly beings alike.

I am Thor, the God of Thunder, and am always pleased to make your acquaintance, so long as you do not harbour the intention to cause harm to innocent lives.

It’s a custom here unlike in Asgard…

Indeed. I find it rather charming. There is so much joy in the air. I like this celebration.

There are people singing publicly on the streets.

This is completely normal for this time of the year, is it not?

It had been months since the events that shook tiny Puente Antigo. Jane spent every one of them researching her newly formed Foster Theory, trying to prove the existence of other worlds and the passages between them. Agent Coulson had been true to his word. All of her equipment was returned to her and her research was now funded by SHIELD, so long as she shared her findings only with them. She wondered at times if this was akin to making a deal with the devil, but in the end, she knew that SHIELD and herself wanted the same goals.

SHIELD helped rebuild Peunte Antigo and provided her with a more state of the art laboratory. She lived here, in her trailer still, working in the lab with new assistants. Darcy had gone back to school and Erik was working on other projects, the details of which he could never share. Truth be told, she missed him. Lately though, her mind was focused on her work, filling her life enough for her to not even realize how lonely she is. The new direction her research had taken her is exciting and cutting edge. Some say she’s mad, but she doesn’t care. He was real. They were real. This theory and her life’s work could be proven correct!

Jane was thinking that coming here was a horrible idea. Every man in the place stared at her with an unsavory look. She was in a good mood, but fighting off ignorant wolves wasn’t how she planned to celebrate her her discovery. It wasn’t long before she could feel someone standing behind her. She put her gaze down, hoping that whoever it was, he would just go away. It didn’t seem likely when he spoke to her. “Get lost, creep,” was her immediate reaction.

Then it hit her. Creeps never called girls ‘lady’. And his voice was all too familiar. She’d heard it a million times in her dreams already. It couldn’t be, though….could it? Of all the bars in all the world to walk into….

She turned slowly to be met with that heartwarming grin and those calm blue eyes. Her own brown ones widened in surprise as she took in the sight before her. “Thor?! Ho-how is this possible?”

Laughing heartily at her initial offhand remark, he scooped her up into a mighty hug that lifted her off her feet. Apparently, she had not yet lost the fire that had captured his attention so. “It is marvelous to see you again,” he said, setting her down on the floor. He searched her eyes for a confirmation, a spark; he wanted to know if her heart still leaned towards him… or had she moved on with her life and forgotten all about him in his absence?

“How have you been, Jane?” he asked, breaking into a wide and charming smile. “You look well.”

Or people…

Aye, there seem to be more people than usual on the streets in the city as well. It is as if all of Midgard have come out to… shop.

I am Jenny. Just Jenny. I’m a traveler turned cook.

I find travelers very interesting indeed. Where have your travels taken you thus far, if I may ask?

I’ve been all over this world and to many others scattered across the stars. Now I live in a flat with an amnesiac God and work for a star. It’s an interesting life.

You have travelled far and wide indeed. What of Asgard, the realm from which I hail? Have you been there before?

What odd living companions you have. And this God, pray tell me his name. I wish to see if this God is an acquaintance of mine or not.

No I have never been there, but I have met a great many people from Asgard. And many different versions of those people.

Well the God is you, or rather another form of you. He goes by Donald and he remembers nothing of his life on Asgard.

I do not doubt that, for I myself have met a number of my kinsmen as it is already. I highly recommend that you visit Asgard should you have the chance to do so in the future.

Donald is a name that is familiar with me, but I… -laughs- cannot recall where I have seen it. He is me, you mean? But he goes by a different name?

The impending festivities excite me.

I believe the mortals call this festivity, ‘Christmas’. Food and gifts wrapped in vibrantly-hued packages seem to be the highlight of this celebration, at least that is what many mortals in the department store seem to be rushing around for.
